This a quick one. Just watching the “release” from jail of Paris Hilton, made me wonder why tha fuck do people seem so thrilled about her?
We have been overly addicted to some personalities that are stupidly weird: to name a few: oscar wilde, marilyn manson, maradona, madonna, dennis rodman, jenna jameson, hugh hefner- etc, etc… but we can argue that all even in all their weirdness these people did have some substance- even jameson.
Wilde: Wrote The Picture of Dorian Gray nuff said.
Manson wrote: The beautiful people and worked with Reznor.
Maradona: Greatest football player ever!
Madonna: Reformed the pop 80′, 90′, and now 2000 pop culture.
Rodman: Part of the dream team of the Bulls.
Jameson: Told women in the world how to be rich, famous, powerful and an icon doing that all deny doing…fucking.
Hefner: Made the jennas of the world possible.
What tha fuck has Paris Hilton made, done, achieve, created? she is not even hot.
If the icons we admire are a reflection of what societies are, then it may seem true…today’s world is so concerned with the production of technology that art and meaning have become stupid accident we should not pay attention. The last creative work of movie I have seen truly was the matrix. Cant believe we are still producing spider man?
We spend so much time absorbing information that few are really creating anything worth it.
